SGS, a world leading quality control and certification company, tasked Pylons Architecture Inc. to design its new 13,000 sqf Head Office in Mississauga, Ontario. Following the successful completion of the project, Pylons Architecture Inc. has been involved in the re-design and renovation of several other SGS offices located in Mississauga, Markham, Montreal and Quebec City.

The idea of the project was to transform a 4,200 sqf dysfunctional and outdated 2-storey restaurant building; into a desirable income generating property with both residential and commercial units. In addition to getting approvals for zoning and change of use, the real challenge for this project was to maximize space utilization creating 2 commercial units on the ground floor and 2 pleasant residential units on the top floor with separate entrances.

Pylons Architecture Inc. was contacted by Treasured moments childcare center with the intention of creating an additional space, utilizing an existing unit close to their property.
The idea was to create a relatively functionally independent space, yet maintain the connection with the original childcare center through common visual features. The project -being a space for children- required strict dedication to high standards of safety and working with special design requirements.
